Microsoft 365 Champions community call (August 2024): Testing the new broadcast platform
Event details
Are the 'mainline' Community calls going to follow this YouTube first approach? Which is great for inclusivity and being seen.
Or will we still keep the Teams approach ... which allows us to chat a bit between us.

I believe it is possible to have both, though.
There's some great stuff that can be done even with free tools like OBS where you can stream live to one platform, but also have a Teams presentation running.
I mention this because (with the greatest of respect) these methods of 'joining in' (comments / forums) are not particularly fast / easy in terms of UX/UI, y'know?
In Teams we very much feel like a collective, I don't think that it will be easy to get that here.

Eliot_Cole I would ask that you also drop this feedback into the Teams Feedback portal (https://aka.ms/TeamsFeedback). It's helps the Teams team prioritize their features.

This feedback is definitely something we have heard before, I would really like to seamlessly connect Microsoft Teams into the community so you can have that rich live event experience but all the conversation persist in the community for a post event on demand experience. This is one of the many options we have been exploring but we have nothing specific to share right now.- Eliot_ColeAug 27, 2024Iron Contributor
Cheers, Allen, yeah ... I'm sure that you have the right techie folks at Microsoft to be able to bridge the divide relatively easily. Even if it is using things like 'fake' cameras, and suchlike ... but yeah ... I'd assume you folks are far further ahead of the curve than that kind of thing! XD

The M365 Champions and Viva Community calls will be following this approach for sure, but we are still evaluating this format for other calls. We're working on finding the balance between the various community needs and platform capabilities and exploring new options. But as always, give us your feedback! - Eliot_ColeAug 27, 2024Iron ContributorThanks for the responses in the call. It's interesting, yeah. I would miss the *literal* community of it all ... I feel. But you're right about the visibility.

Yeah we are definitely planning to improve the events experience on the community going forward so do give feedback.
