WAC 1.5.2306.14001: No way to define hard disk path when adding a new virtual machine

When trying to add a new virtual machine (VM), I found no option to define the path for the VM's hard disk(s), the dialog informs me of a predefined path (don't know where this value comes from):

Because there's no hard disk defined yet for the VM (further down on the dialog):

Is it safe to create the VM this way, and add the disks later using the VM's settings dialogs?
