We're still waiting for a window to try it again, but I have some questions for you.
My Cutover failed at 30% with the same error, is that where you were in the process?
It sounds like you have tried quite a few things on the source, destination and orchestrator, have you tried anything on your domain controller?
What version of domain controller are you using?
I haven't touched the domain controllers in all this. All our DC's are at Server 2019.
- Just had a window open up to try the migration again.
After troubleshooting/updating several items finally resorted to manually renaming the servers after letting SMS transfer the files and shares.
renamed source file server (appended "old" to the name)
changed source IP address to different/new IP address.
rebooted and made sure DNS record reflected IP correctly.
renamed destination server to original source name.
changed destination server to original source IP address.
rebooted and made sure DNS record reflected IP correctly.
After this, users didn't have any issues accessing their shares without rebooting or remapping!
