Question about a setting on a v3 certificate authority template

TemplatePropSymmetricKeyLength

The link below is the only documentation I could find around these two v3 CA template attributes, but what does this setting apply to?  From the administrator GUI where I can modify these settings as it looks like it defaults to 3DES?  Thanks for your help.
