I know this answer is (very) late. I have found that just unchecking the tag, make it disappear. Thus, allowing you to create a new one. Correct, I have found a away to edit one.
Did you ever figure this out? I am trying to delete and rename tags in WAC.

- No, unfortunately there is no way currently (or I am not able to find a way) to delete or edit or archive tags...
