Where are you printer?
I have a client who works on a home network with a networked Brother 9970cdw printer. She is using RDP to connect to a Windows 2008 r2 Terminal Server. She is able to login and use the server; however...
Connecting to an RDP to a Windows 2008 R2 SP1 Terminal server needs to map that printer to the session. Also if your printer is not multifunction then you need additional 3rd party software as a scanner.
