Upgrade active directory to win 2022
We have 3 root domain and 3 child domain , all windows server 2012 r2 (forest and function domain is 2016). should upgrade root or child first ?

- Forest and functional levels can't be raised anymore, 2016 is the highest level (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/identity/ad-ds/active-directory-functional-levels) If you have Domain Controllers running 2012R2, you should replace those by new ones or do an in-place upgrade of them. If you are adding 2022 Domain Controllers to the domains, you might need to check if sysvol replication is configured for DFSR instead of FRS. - Ah 👍 personally, I would start from root and do child domain later. It's all compatible with each other, so it's preference I guess
