Update Daylight saving time on Windows server client from domain controller
Hello,
The September 2026 cumulative update includes the Morocco Daylight Saving Time update. We are planning to update our domain controllers to apply the new DST schedule.
Is there any option for domain-joined Windows Servers to update their Daylight Saving Time configuration from the domain controller without installing the September 2026 cumulative update on each server ?
Or does the update need to be installed on every Windows Server individually ?

Updating the domain controllers alone will not distribute new daylight-saving rules to member servers. Domain time synchronization supplies UTC time; each server converts that to local time using its own time-zone configuration and locally stored DST rules. Therefore, a member server can synchronize successfully with an updated domain controller and still display the wrong local time. Deploy the applicable Microsoft update containing the required rule to each affected Windows Server version, using your normal centralized patch-management process. That does not require manually installing it server by server. Before deployment, confirm the relevant KB and supported operating-system versions, then test the time-zone setting and expected transition on a representative server. Do not compensate by shifting the domain controller's clock or disabling synchronization. If a server cannot receive the update, request a documented, version-specific workaround from Microsoft rather than assuming the domain hierarchy supplies the missing rules.
