Troubleshooting by windows server 2019
Hi Community,
I need your wisdom to stop windows server 2019 from rebooting on its own.
I believe that the reboot is caused by windows update because I saw the following code in the logs
Service pack (Planned)
Reason Code:0x80020010
I reboot once every two weeks using task-scheduler.
But the day after the reboot, it rebooted itself again!
I checked the GPOs applied using gpresult /H and found the following
Specify an automatic restart deadline to install updates
Quality Updates : 14
Feature updates : 14
Configure Automatic Updates: 4
Installing during automatic maintenance
Disabled
Allow automatic updates to be installed immediately
Enabled
Is there any setting that is missing?
- Since_NT311Copper ContributorSome updates Microsoft deemed as critical will bypass this, it will do the install and reboot. If you can't live with this then perhaps you could stand up a site WSUS where you'll have complete control over updating procedures.
