Sysinfo sever 2022 "essential" vs. "standard"
- Jan 18, 2022
Regardless, the vendor will be your best resource for resolution to the problem. The burden is on the developer to certify an application for a given operating system.

I guess 3rd party support was not aware of the "problem" with server 2022 essential.
Thanks to you, I now have enough arguments that the developers are working on a solution.

Hi, Did you get a resolution to this ?
I am having the same issue (possibly with the same 3rd party vendor if your issue was related to a well know backup solution).
As the edition of WSE2022 is displayed as Standard and no longer Essentials as was the case with previous version, WSE2019, the license activation process queries the OS edition installed and because Standard and not Essentials is returned, the application will not activate as it thinks the key is for the wrong version. This seems an oversight from the vendor as the Essentials edition still exists and the reseller advised that the version purchased was correct for the essentials edition. The Standard edition of the application is double the price as it is for a fully fledged (unrestricted) truly Standard version of WS2022.- Christian_B75Mar 14, 2022Copper Contributor
