server 2012 r2 rds and remote app

Hi Community.

I have the following scenario.

Users in the office are using a specific application via remote app. It works perfectly. However some users wish to then reconnect to a disconnected remote app session from their home pc.

Remote access is via cisco asa clientless vpn using a smart tunnel for rdp.

User can get a remote desktop session no problems. But they do not connect to their existing session for remote app. They instead get a second session on the rds server.

Is there any way to have that user's remote desktop session pick up the remote app session?

I know this worked on server 2008.
