Removing Replication from Windows Servers Correctly
Hi Everyone,
I'm looking at removing replication and namespacing from two servers without losing any data. In addition during this removal I will adding a third server and finally removing the two old servers. So here's the scenario:
Server1: Running Server 2019.
Server2: Running Server 2012
Server3: Running Server 2021
Server1 is the main server and has all the data on it. It's data is under a folder/share called "data2020"
Server 2 is the secondary server and is replicated to from server 1. Also Server2 can replicate back to server 1.
I want to first stop replication and then remove the namespace called "dataNS"
Once I remove them I will add the third server (Server3), make that the one that holds all the roles and then decommission the other two servers.
At the end I will have 1 server (Server3) and the others will be gone.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks
Steve
