Actually, you will not need staging folders. As far as I understood they are used to caching some files using frs replication for very specific cases. As you are now using dfsr should not be a problem. Believe me, it's weird to see the "missing folders" but everything will works just fine. So don't worry about that but make a plan to decom all yours olds DC and keep just the new one.
Stangest thing is that freshly prepared 2022 domain and domain controllers and even added new DCs into the same domain which had FRS to DFRS migrated, HAVE staging folders configured so it would be very interesting to know - is it a bug from MS side or thing by design.
