Mapped drive randomly losing permissions: 0x80070035, The network path was not found.
Hello,
I have a peculiar issue that comes up from time to time. We run multiple environments where there's a server that hosts a bunch of shared folders. The permissions are set to provide full Read/Write access to everyone.
We then have a script that does a net share to all the computers with an assigned drive letter. The drives do properly map onto the host computers.
This would hum along fine for weeks, sometimes months, but on random occasions, I would get the error box 0x80070035 The network path was not found.
In checking the Sharing properties, I can see that it is still shared to everyone. Clicking Share again without making any changes fixes the broken permission. It would go to work again for however long and eventually break again in the future.
The only way we know that it happens is when someone calls to report the issue to us, and the solution has always been the same thing, save the Network access permissions page.
Anyone run into this issue and any thoughts on what we could do as a permanent resolution for this.
Server is an R450 with 32GB Ram and a Xeon Silver 4310 processor operating Server 2019 Standard on Version 1809.
Any suggestions would be highly appreciated!

I have the same problem for my home computer and a WDMyCloud drive on my home network. After the latest Windows 11 Cumulative update, I can no longer access my mapped folders on WDMyCloud, nor access the drive at all! I get the 0x80070035 error and notice that "the path cannot be found." Nothing that I have tried, and suggestions from Microsoft for this error code has worked.
I have an Iomega StorCenter drive on the network with mapped folders that continues to work.
