In-Place Upgrade WIndows Server 2012 R2 Standard to 2019 Error
I am working on a Virtual windows server in-place upgrade from 2012R2 to windows 2019.
after finishing the first step and during the upgrade I receive below error message
and system back to old windows with this error message
what I found is all related to to windows 10 upgrade error message and non of them related to windows server

From personal experience, make sure you use the latest iso for server 2019.

You could wade through the setup logs for clues but a much simpler / safer method would be a migration. Stand up a new one, patch fully, migrate roles over and move on.
