DNS stub zones stop responding

We're having an issue where stub zones stop responding once or twice a week. We simpy get a zone transfer error and it doesn't go away until the receiving DC is rebooted. 

No logs or anything indicating exactly what's wrong; but it happens randomly from our three domains to our resource domain.

Everything runs on 2012 R2; and dcdiag shows nothing wrong anywhere.

Anyone got any ideas?
