change AD domain name
we are a healthcare organization and just merged with another practice. Consequently we are changing our domain name which means I have to change our AD domain name. I have a Windows Server 2016 DC and a Windows 2008 R2 DC. If I change the name on the Windows Server 2016 will it replicate to the Windows 2008 DC or will I have to manually change that one as well? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Domain rename would affect all domain controllers.
Domain controller rename affects only one instance.
