Bluetooth and Wireless display not working on Windows Server 2022
- Nov 30, 2023
/wave from the Windows Server product team. I just want to confirm what Karl said, we have been monitoring this thread and we hear your feedback. For the next release of Windows Server we have addressed these issues. THANK YOU for your feedback and passion for Windows Server!!!
I announced a week ago at Ignite, here's the session if you want to go learn more about what is coming in the next release of Windows Server:
What’s New in Windows Server v.Next (microsoft.com)
Thanks!!

It's totally safe to install any updates.
Upgrading to vNext might or might not remove the added services. I don't know.
The drivers from Windows 11 won't work due to missing dependencies. Same thing for services.

Elden_ChristensenHas the Windows Server product team made any decision regarding this matter? It's been 4 months since your post and, so far, no new announcements on whether Bluetooth support will be added to Server 2022. It would be great to hear some response.

Hi Ted,
I'm a little taken back by your comments, I'm not sure how this is related to the topic being discussed. Telemetry on Windows Server is configurable and can be disabled by configuring the AllowTelemetry regkey. Windows Server telemetry is only used by the development team for improving the product, it is not sold or shared. Many of your posts are provocative to other posters, I will politely ask you to please keep it professional and productive.
Thanks!
Elden - Ted_MittelstaedtMay 26, 2022Brass ContributorElden we know perfectly well why you did it, the server team was more interested in jamming yet more instrumentation into Windows Server to follow our every move and market it to the world for filthy lucre, you simply responded to all your marketing teams requirements first and ran out of time before release for the core functionality.
My guess is Windows Server, like Windows 11, is so heavily instrumented that more CPU power now in the OS goes into analyzing what we are doing on the Internet so you can market it than actually processing applications. Note that I'm not letting Linux off the hook either, nor MacOS, as the most recent Ubuntu desktop is chock full of that garbage also.
When you stuck Show Search Highlights into the most recent updates for windows 10 - you really jumped the shark for uselessness of added features. News and Interests was bad enough but you had a lot of nerve sticking advertising popups into the Search window in Search Highlights and it is NOT intuitive on how to turn it off. At least News and Interests was somewhat intuitive in how the off checkbox was placed. But Search Highlights? Completely and deliberately not intuitive clearly you don't want people turning off the spam.
That was 16 minutes of my life wasted searching for how to turn that off that I'll never get back.
Of course I know you won't forward THIS to your server team. - GladserverMay 09, 2022Brass ContributorElden, I wish to thank you for your consideration. Please do take into account also that there are scores of people out there like me that wish to use the server product in a pc like environment due to lack of vm's and other considerations. I for the life of me cannot understand why you would limit your sales due to lack of offerings and also why you would not offer all this and allow the security needing folks to not use the less secure items.
Thank you again. - Elden_ChristensenMay 09, 2022

I just wanted to chime in that the Windows Server product team has been following this thread, that we hear your feedback and that we are investigating adding support natively so that jumping through these hoops is not necessary. I could do a big long write-up about why we made these decisions in the first place, security, server scenarios, etc... but we hear your feedback 🙂 - Jan_PavelMay 05, 2022Copper Contributorit would be really great if the full BT support was included and was not necessary to do this magic 🙂
