Please add formatting capability to the Notes field

I use the Notes field on virtually every task I create and some are pretty long.  Is there a way to format the text in Notes?  If not, is there a plan to do so?

The biggest formatting choices I would like to see are Bullets, Bold and Color.  I would also love to see a time stamp, since I always include the date for each item I enter in the Notes field.
