Copy and paste lists?

Long time Wunderlist user trying just starting a new project with todo. Looks like I can not copy and past lists or specific items. I use template lists every day. Any help would be appreciated. Windows 10 and android.

  • I am sort of amazed that basic copy and paste is not a feature. It seems like this is a huge miss. What if someone wants to copy the list to send in an email or something similar?
Almost makes things like this useless.

Did they ever fix this?  Seems very frustrating that simple copy/paste doesn't work.

It's been a few years, and it looks like this isn't directly addressed yet, but I thought I'd add a workaround for the record and for anyone else that searches for this issue and winds up here like I did. Here is my workaround:

    - Using the desktop Windows app (not sure about other platforms), if you go into a list and click the "..." button at top right, you'll see an option to "Email list". Clicking this will initiate a new email in your default email client with the list copied into it. From there you can copy the list and do with it what you please.
    - Better yet, if you do the above and your list is "too long" (don't know how long that is exactly), it will actually let you just copy the list to the clipboard directly! (Now was that so hard, Microsoft...)

Click on the ellipsis (the three dots for the List Options Menu) then select print. Select the printer destination as Save to PDF. Now you'll have a PDF you can copy and paste from.

  • dadmc1 While itโ€™s frustrating not being able to copy and paste lists or items in Microsoft To Do, a possible workaround could be duplicating tasks manually or exploring third-party tools for better list management. As a long-time Wunderlist user, I feel the need for this feature too! Hoping Microsoft adds this functionality soon.

It's frustrating when a new tool like To Do doesn't support basic features like copying or reusing template lists, especially for daily workflows. Hopefully, Microsoft addresses this limitation soon to make transitioning smoother for former Wunderlist users. Meanwhile, consider creating reusable templates in Word or Excel and importing them when needed.๐Ÿ˜€ (link removed by moderator)
