Thanks very much! It's great to have something working.

 

So if I tell Bixby,(had never used before) to save a reminder it saves to the formerly hidden reminder app and to the reminder list in Microsoft ToDo. Have you found any way to get it to save to the task list instead?

In https://apps.samsung.com/appquery/appDetail.as?appId=com.samsung.android.app.reminder&cId=000006417222 (which is not a "*hidden* app" BTW), after having set up the synchronisation  with ToDo , just select ToDo "Tasks" list as default for saving new items. After that new entries will be saved there and bidirectionally synced. 
Note that since I use French language as default, items names ("tasks" vs "reminders" for instance) may vary.
Just experiment by yourself and you'll see how it works.
