Stream API documentation
When will it be available?
- anonymous-userSilver ContributorI would like an API for creating channels and managing permissions at the channel level (when that feature is available).

Any update on the Microsoft Stream API availability?
- Vishal SoodMicrosoft
@BartVermeersch yes, in fact Stream will be GA before we will have APIs. They will be available sometime after GA (no timelines yet, but its high on our priority list for post GA).
In the meantime, Office 365 Video would continue to work. We will be giving Office 365 Admins control on when you want to move to Stream. If you need APIs you can wait before anything changes for your org.

We have some good news private channels coming soon . Stay tuned

Hi @MrNigel, API is definitely on our roadmap. The goal for our preview is that we nail all the feedback we get and incorporate that into the product before we share APIs. We'd love to hear your feedback both on the product and ideas on how you would like to use APIs so that we can consider that feedback.
Thank you for trying Microsoft Stream. How do you like it so far?

what would be great is to facilitate https://h5p.org we use this with the integrated Moodle module for interactive video content. Our issue is, as a Microsoft 365 subscriber, we host our content on stream as part of our college solution this then prevents us using this content to facilitate a more engaging and deeper learning experience through the H5P interactive video software.
- T-EskolaCopper ContributorI hope MS makes this happen!

I would like to use API for custom usage reporting.
- DeletedWe would like to connect our video(s) already uploaded into a SharePoint Online video library application without having to reupload them into Stream. Plus having the videos accessible via SharePoint Online in a media library application allows admins to use SharePoint Workflows for the file(s). If videos are uploaded to Stream, where are they stored? Is the only way to access them via Stream interface? Is the only way to access Stream videos in SharePoint via modern page Steam webpart? Can you connect Stream to videos already uploaded into SharePoint without reuploading them into Stream and duplicating the file?

Also, please add this to our ideas - https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Stream-Ideas/idb-p/StreamIdeas

Hi @vishal, do you have any idea when the APIs might become available? It would be very useful for us to be able to automate out routine video recordings.
- Vishal SoodMicrosoft
@cmartinez thank you for sharing the scenario. We do have APIs on our backlog but we can't commit to a timeline. We'd like to get more feedback on capabilities before we open up APIs so that we minimize changes once we release. Apologies as you likely needed APIs quick and we are committed to making them available so please stay with us . Thank you again for trying Stream.

@cmartinez could you please ping me on a private message? We would love to understand how you'd like to use the APIs? Is simply to upload content into MIcrosoft Stream? If so, have you looked at Microsoft Flow? If we were to give an integration with that, would that also help with it?

Vishal Sood yes it will definitely help

Hi @vishal, just sent you a private message. Thanks!
