Redirection of Stream Classic links

So as I understand it, Stream Classic video links will be redirected to the new location for 1 year after the final decommission date in Feb 2024.  I assume this only works for videos that have been migrated to Stream on SharePoint using the migration tool correct?

So in a manner typical of Microsoft's approach, they opted to introduce issues where none were present initially, thus once again debilitating all their user base.

These issues were resolved by Microsoft and the migration tool can move videos to wherever you need them to go in SharePoint, Teams, or OneDrive. The issues with redirects are unfortunate, but since those have to be resolved in another year anyway - why not just put them where they will need to go and start directing users to that location rather than relying on redirect links? This is no different than any other migration of data. There are always issues - especially with links to files. The product team has done a great job of responding to their customers as quickly as they possibly could. They have even had bi-weekly meetings where you could ask questions and get answers and suggestions. This is the first product team I've seen do this at Microsoft. Unfortunately, you can't always accommodate everyone on everything. I hope both of you have found resolution on your issues at this time.

    From Microsoft - July 4, 2023

Some videos aren't being hidden in Stream (Classic) after they are migrated & redirection from old link to new link isn't working | Fix estimate: September 30, 2023 - After videos are migrated they're suppose to hide from Stream (Classic). Anytime you navigate to the old link or embed code for a migrated video it should redirect to it's new location in OneDrive or SharePoint However, in certain cases this isn't happening. Also, sometime the migrated destination URL isn't populated in the inventory report due to the same root cause. During our investigations, we've discovered multiple bugs that result in these same symptoms. We have already fixed several of these issues but we're working to fix the remaining known issues.

CaptainReboot, yes, this is my understanding.  A quick question for you, is the redirection link working for you?  It doesn't appear to be for us.

    Thank you,

I don't think we will be using the migration tool. We need to be able to migrate certain videos in a container to different locations in SharePoint. The limitation with the tool is that if you choose someone's container, it all has to go to the same place on SharePoint, which won't work for us.
