Microsoft Stream does not present videos

For a number of weeks now it has not been possible to perform any functions in Stream (https://web.microsoftstream.com/).

https://web.microsoftstream.com/ shows “ It looks like something went wrong. Refresh your browser to try again” and code: "Forbidden", message: "Operation returned an invalid status code 'Forbidden’” in network.

https://web.microsoftstream.com/studio/followingchannels shows Unable to display channels because your session has expired.

Could someone help with fixing this issue, please...

  • Hi Alex_Shylo

Thanks for reaching out. Can you confirm

1.) You have an Office 365 subscription
2.) You are assigned an Office 365 licence and Stream is turned on within that licence
3.) Have you tried it on different browsers?
4.) Are others in your organisation using Stream or getting this issue?
5.) Can you download the Stream App on IOS and it work as normal or getting an error?
6.) Have you tried accessing it outside of the office network? Do you know if you have anything like a proxy installed?

I look forward to hearing from you

    Best, Chris

      Hi ChrisHoardMVP

      Thanks for so quick reaction

      As for questions:

      1) Yes

      2) Yes

      3) Sure. Chrome, Safari, Firefox

      4) No. For others from our corporate it works well

      5) Just did. Same issue with message:  Forbidden: Operation returned an invalid status code 'Forbidden'

      6) Have tried to connect from different places with same result. For others team members works fine.

      Thx, Alex

Hmm, it sounds like something is wrong with your actual user in consideration the issue is persistent across browsers and in the mobile app and across locations, but that other users have not experienced this.

I would try turning off the Stream element of your 365 licence, waiting for a period and then switching it back on. Could be a provisioning issue.

If the issue persists, I would have another global administrator within your organisation log into https://web.microsoftstream.com/ and go to Cog > Admin Settings > Support and raise a ticket to MS from there. I would be interested to know what is causing this

Hope that helps to answer your question

        Best, Chris
