    Hi,

This issue usually happens when the account you're using isn't fully recognized under the Startup program, even if it works in other Microsoft services. Try these steps:

    * Make sure you're signing in with the exact account linked to your Startup program (many users have multiple accounts).

    * Sign out completely and try again using an incognito/private browser window.

    * Clear your browser cache or switch to a different browser.

    * Check if your Startup benefits are still active and properly assigned in the portal.

If you can access Azure but still get the "apply" or login prompt, it's usually a mismatch between your account and the program enrollment. In general, structured login systems depend on clear step-by-step verification, and understanding how these patterns work can make troubleshooting easier. Even simple tools like

show how breaking processes into clear steps improves clarity and reduces confusion.

Let me know if it works 👍

I tried on another computer that I've never logged into with any Microsoft account and it still asks me to apply.

Thanks for your suggestionScrollZSilva   unfortunately it didn’t work.
My credits do still show up and the preview starts page in the azure portal.

      Hi,

Thanks for the clarification — since your credits show correctly in the Azure portal, this is very likely related to tenant/directory association rather than the account itself.

      Please try this:

      1. In the Azure portal, click your profile (top right) → switch directory
        • Make sure you are in the directory where your startup subscription/benefits are assigned
      2. After switching, try accessing the Startup Portal again
      3. Also check if your subscription is linked to a specific tenant (sometimes credits exist, but the program access is tied to another directory)

This kind of issue usually happens when the account is valid, but the program is linked to a different directory/tenant.

Let me know if switching directory changes anything 👍

    Hi,

This usually happens when your account is not recognized as part of the Startup program, even if it works fine in the Azure portal.

    Try the following:

    1. Make sure you are using the correct account linked to the startup program (sometimes people have multiple accounts)
    2. Sign out and sign in again, or try using an incognito/private browser
    3. Clear your browser cache or try a different browser
    4. Check if your startup benefits are still active and properly assigned

If you can access Azure credits but still get prompted to apply, it may be a mismatch between your account and the program enrollment.

Let me know if it works 👍
