User right for SSIS

Hi,

So I learned that to connect to Integration Services server type from SSMS you need to be admin on your computer. Well, I am not and the IT wants to keep it that way. To work with SSIS and create packages, does one need to be admin or you can work with SSIS even without having to connect to it from SSMS?

Nima Mohandesan What is your reason for connecting to SSIS from SSMS?  There isn't much you can actually do from SSMS with SSIS apart from view the packages stored in the file system or msdb and execute or upgrade them.

To create packages, it is common to use Visual Studio or SQL Server Data Tools to author packages and then deploy these to a server. You can then execute these from SSMS using the SISS catalog.
