SQL Server Edition
Hi, We're planning to update our SQL Server to recent version. I would like to ask which Edition should we use? I'm confused between Standard and Enterprise Edition. I'm from Payment Gateway company.
I know that the Enterprise Edition is more expensive but has a lot of advanced features than Standard Edition.
By the way, here's our current system version:
OS: Windows 2012
SQL: SQL 2014
Plan to Update:
OS: Windows 2022
SQL: 2019 or 2022.
Our aim is to save budget but not to compromise our business' data.

- SheldonS1760Copper ContributorHey ArChrisEslabra - Its all dependent on the features that you would like to implement. What edition are you currently running? Start there and see if you are using all the features from that version or if there is anything lacking with that version. Once you do that assessment you will have a better idea of how to proceed

See Editions and supported features of SQL Server 2022 - SQL Server | Microsoft Learn
for a compare of existing feature.
Choose which which you need, whcih you want and which is a "nice to have"; then you can decide, which Edition is the best for you (r budget)
