SQL Server Developer edition
I work for a large multinational corporation. It's "blanket" SQL Server licensing is about to expire, so we're looking for least expensive solution to keep our lower environments intact. We're typical: QA, TEST and DEV environments are considered "lower" than PROD environments, and they indeed are not used for any production traffic or revenue generating activity. They do however contain databases, schemas, federated users, permissions, and roles that are modeled on and identical to PROD. Performance and user acceptance TEST environments sit on 50TB of "dummy" data. Am I to understand that we can fully use EE featured SQL Server developer edition for these lower environments, for free?
