SQL Server 2017 Enterprise Licencing

Hi Guys,

The Microsoft Price for SQL Server 2017 Enterprise Edition license is $14,256

My SQL Physical Server running the SQL Server 2017 Enterprise Edition. The Physical Server has 1 CPU with 16 Cores.

1. How many licenses do i need to buy for a server with 16 cores?

2. How many cores can a $14,256 SQL Server 2017 Enterprise Edition license be able to accommodate?

I would also like to invite Microsoft Licensing Professionals if they are any on this forum!
