Licensing
Hi
My customer has few SQL servers and needs to migrate to different servers. Need advice on below queries.
Customer has 2 SQL 2008 R2 and 2 SQL 2012 servers. Below are the queries I have.
1.Customer wants to decommission 1 SQL 2008 and 1 SQL 2012 severs and re use those SQL license to install on different server. Is that possible?
2. Is it possible to upgrade rest of the two severs (1 with 2008 R2 and other with 2012) to SQL 2016 without having any addition license. Customer wants to upgrade current setup with already installed license.
3. As SQL 2008 R2 is EOS, can I install on a new server and then upgrade to SQL 2016 with same license.
