sharing presence between SfB and Cisco
Any word on how this is going?
Robert
Most of my peers have already migrated to Jabber so I havent had a chance yet to reach out to a few people still on Lync to see how my presence looks to them when Im on a call.
One thing Ive discovered: a Jabber user must add a lync/skype user to their contact list in order to initiate SIP traffic between the two users in order to see presence status. The same also applies to a Lync/Skype user adding a Jabber user to their contact list.
When a user is migrated to Jabber their outlook integration will only show presence info to other Jabber users. No presence info will exist in Outlook for Lync/Skype users. The same will also apply for Lync/Skype users seeing presence of Jabber users in Outlook.

Thanks for the response, that is what I expected from reading the integration documentation. I was hoping that presence could be shared, but it appears that intradomain federation presence only works if the account is on one side or the other, not both.
We are a 100% Skype for Business shop, and were hoping that we could integrate with Cisco presence, so when someone picks up their Cisco phone, it shows them as on the phone in Skype.

Hi David,
We are on the tipping point of embarking on the same trajectory you have been on for a year now. What was the outcome of your investigations? Did you ever find a solution to sharing presence between SfB On-Prem and Cisco telephony?
We've been told that Cisco can push their presence to Outlook/Exchange but it sounds like from one of the previous posts that once that integration is setup for that user Skype clients will stop picking up presence for that user.
Would you be open for direct contact to discuss our two situations in more details?
Cheers,
Tyson
