SfB Online and On-Prem Call Presence Information
I'm looking for an on-prem phone system which allows for presence information in SfB Online (and Outlook). That is, when you're on the phone, it sets SfB to Busy or similar along with UM.
I'm open to looking at any applicable on-prem phone systems and of course SBC if required. It would also be nice if we could integrate this system to allow create/receive calls via the SfB client.
Currently we're using an ancient Shoretel phone system but can switch away from that.
I'm thinking that the Mediant SBC would accomplish the presence info in SfB Online/EXO; would that be correct?

Skype for Business Server is an on-premises PBX that will do exactly what you're looking for, and you've got a single user experience that way. You could just move to Teams later if you prefer as well. The CloudBond link you posted can work as Skype in a box in a way to help accomplish this. Why not just go with Skype for Business altogether?
We're not bringing new on-prem services, especially something as complex as an SfB setup. Teams is a requirement now, as well. We will not be deploying the SfB client.
Then I'm confused, I thought you were looking for an on prem phone system?
- David PhillipsSteel ContributorI’ve been looking for an answer to this as well. Cisco does partitioned intradomain federation but presence only works if the account is on Skype or Cisco / Jabber, not both. There are client based solutions, but you have to maintain a fat client and MS doesn’t really fully support that.
Here’s a good article relating to Cisco:

So think you are on the right track :-)
