Re: Roadmap for Skype for Business capabilities coming to Microsoft Teams now available

When will Skype for Business have the ability to communicate with ALL Skype users?

  • Hi James,

Consumer version of Skype federation with onprem skype for business deployment must be registered from pic.lync.com. In Office365 version of SfB Online you need to activate it from the admin center, skype control panel - external communication.

For other users with Skype for business you need to have on both side have a federation. Some companies have a closed federation and add domains in a whitelist.

  • Hi James,

    What do you actually mean?
Skype for Business can communicate with Skype consumer and with other "federated" Skype for Business users.

If you mean Skype for Business communicating with Teams, Skype for Business interop & fed. This is scheduled for Q4 2017 (end of qtr)
