powerpoint in desktop sharing

Our issue is : While sharing a presentation in a two participants skype video conference meeting , some pages were written in a small font that is so hard to the other side to see, as we could not find a way to zoom it in , we had to share the desktop to the other side , to zoom it in for him to see , In the next 20 seconds , the connection becomes bad , some times lost , We are using a 4 Mb of VPN connection , which should be OK ,so it got to be something else, We have tried to close cameras on both sides while sharing desktop and zooming in a page of presentation , that made some improvement in the connection, I believe this is not a practical solution , as if this the way the skype works, it should close the cam. automatically one the desktop is shared, Pls. advise how to resolve this case ,

      Hi,

      Thanks for your reply ,

Our company VPN is dedicated  to join our main office in Cairo , and our branch in Alexandria (both in Egypt), it is 4Mb bandwidth that is available all the time , almost no traffic most of the time , that is why we using it for skype meeting instead of going through the internet,so, if the VPN is not crawdad , it should be OK  for the skype , pls. confirm,

When we sharing a powerpoint presentation , we may find one slide with a small font , as we could not find a way to zoom it in , we tried to use (share desktop) to be able to zoom that slide, once we do this , the connection falls,

To be more specific , we need to know :

1- Is using a not crawdad 4 Mb VPN for two participants skype meeting should be OK?

2- Is there is a way to zoom in / out a slide while sharing a powerpoint presentation which will cancel the need of sharing the desktop?

3- Could we force skype to close the cameras once we shared the desktop to save the used bandwidth  ?

      Thanks again and best regards

        1.  Is using a not crawdad 4 Mb VPN for two participants skype meeting should be OK?
          - Yes, 4 Mbps should not be a problem. But there could be some latency, jitter or something else on that connection creating problems.
        2. Is there is a way to zoom in / out a slide while sharing a powerpoint presentation which will cancel the need of sharing the desktop?
          - No, not what I know about. But if you share the PowerPoint instead of desktop and viewers can't see the text, then you should probably change the font in the PowerPoint to a larger size.
        3. Could we force skype to close the cameras once we shared the desktop to save the used bandwidth  ?
          - If you close cameras it will lower the bandwidth usage for Skype, yes.
