Mac users and the SfB web app
Yes. Please note there are 2 downsides of this change -https://na01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Furldefense.proofpoint.com%2Fv2%2Furl%3Fu%3Dhttps-3A__na01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com_-3Furl-3Dhttps-253A-252F-252Ftechcommunity.microsoft.com-252Ft5-252FSkype-2Dfor-2DBusiness-2DBlog-252FSkype-2DMeetings-2DApp-2Dimprovements-2Don-2Dtheir-2Dway-252Fba-2Dp-252F280828-26data-3D02-257C01-257CBrian.Swagger-2540microsoft.com-257C9d657264943d41c9980b08d64e38722a-257C72f988bf86f141af91ab2d7cd011db47-257C1-257C0-257C636782401694380246-26sdata-3DRw0qNUctp7zThhNd-252F9zV3NiKLfQDqXO2dTtEjKTZKfo-253D-26reserved-3D0%26d%3DDwMGaQ%26c%3DBX7Y4KpGhcDnIsrgHKqkbfoiiDvjhxwuYUpcrPD7xrE%26r%3DcSH4D9Hzmf1G9YE4hBD0cuBkVRPmO5_OP9jJ2igS2OQ%26m%3D3vOhhvU1R9ZMI34CZG3X36q-hXfx3SXTMo9j3ov3Tyw%26s%3DuQl9Ib_3ExuXvWYTRhxjHM6-H2SWPrL5JGxutuwtpyg%26e%3D&data=02%7C01%7CBrian.Swagger%40microsoft.com%7C08eed01daa384f814d7f08d64e3a0c73%7C72f988bf86f141af91ab2d7cd011db47%7C1%7C0%7C636782408577754004&sdata=7ioiNkDIU%2FkBmQmu%2BbTa%2FHYcGB0d6BVZx6gyt5laVPk%3D&reserved=0
There are two additional impacts due to this change. The desktop app is larger, so the download will take 10-20 seconds longer on average, depending on your network connection. Secondly, the desktop app does not support whiteboard, polls, Q&A, and attachments. For a full comparison of Skype for Business for Mac and Skype Meetings App features, see the Supported Meetings Features table in https://na01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Furldefense.proofpoint.com%2Fv2%2Furl%3Fu%3Dhttps-3A__na01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com_-3Furl-3Dhttps-253A-252F-252Ftechnet.microsoft.com-252Fen-2Dus-252Flibrary-252Fgg425820.aspx-26data-3D02-257C01-257CBrian.Swagger-2540microsoft.com-257C9d657264943d41c9980b08d64e38722a-257C72f988bf86f141af91ab2d7cd011db47-257C1-257C0-257C636782401694390254-26sdata-3D5Bgseu2Mp-252FoFSLJbNfMS942WcaIcHfCU5Fz0lj4secw-253D-26reserved-3D0%26d%3DDwMGaQ%26c%3DBX7Y4KpGhcDnIsrgHKqkbfoiiDvjhxwuYUpcrPD7xrE%26r%3DcSH4D9Hzmf1G9YE4hBD0cuBkVRPmO5_OP9jJ2igS2OQ%26m%3D3vOhhvU1R9ZMI34CZG3X36q-hXfx3SXTMo9j3ov3Tyw%26s%3DK6P8A6Js8yKf9sdpI3JFL6kOFDLoqsUS0mhNIukOZyo%26e%3D&data=02%7C01%7CBrian.Swagger%40microsoft.com%7C08eed01daa384f814d7f08d64e3a0c73%7C72f988bf86f141af91ab2d7cd011db47%7C1%7C0%7C636782408577764016&sdata=JypjKkbNRR4ZhjL8gAcqfo268SuUwBk39BSt47Y7PRs%3D&reserved=0.
Thanks, this is not good news. It feels very much like we're being pushed into Teams, which doesn't seemed completely baked. I just got off a MS call with an engineering (I think) rep saying multiple times "I don't have a date but we're working on that."
So, taking functionality away from S4b, pushing orgs to Teams, which isn't fully functional. MS please help ease the transition by at least not removing S4B functionality before Teams is a mature product.
