Transfer Skype for Business Online call to meeting room
We are considering to migrate to Skype for Business Online Phone System. we work in an open office environment where currently most of us have a cordless phone. In case of a sensitive call we move to the privacy of a nearby meeting room. Because no cordless phones are supported for S4B Online, we will have to install additional S4B phones in the meeting rooms and transfer the calls to these devices. Now I wonder how to deal with this scenario? Should we create for every phone a "User" in Office 365, provide a license and use this account for a phone in a meeting room, or is there a better way?

Whats the distance from the workers desk to the meetingrooms? What kind of walls are there?
Maybe a good headset with some range could be a solution? Get rid of the deskphones, and have Skype for Business telephony on the pcs. If range to the meetingrooms are to far, you could transfer to a skype phone in the meetingroom or bring your laptop.- Lieven IlianoCopper Contributor
Hi Alexander,
Thank you for your reply. Our office is an open environment, all meeting rooms are within a range of 35m (115 feet) with almost everywhere glass walls, so that should be ok. Not everybody has a phone, so passing a cordless phone is easier and more hygienic than passing a headset connected to a laptop. I think we will have to change the way we work a bit to adopt the headset.
Do we have to create for every phone in a meeting room a user in Office 365 with a license?
