Education Tenant
Hi all,
Currently the sign up form for schools is not working for the past 2 weeks if I am not mistaken. Support doesn't have an estimated resolution time so I was trying a few things. I see there is Intune for Education which lets me create an account. This new tenant shows this message 'Your school's academic eligibility is pending. Once your school's academic eligibility has been confirmed, you will see education products with discounted prices on the Purchase services page.', however it does not have the a1 trial licenses. Is this tenant considered an education tenant? Can I start the eligibility process through support with this one and then a partner to get A3 licenses? Or it's mandatory to have the A1 licenses first.

The pending eligibility banner does not establish that Microsoft has approved your school or that A3 purchasing is available. Microsoft’s documented academic verification workflow expects an Education trial and specifically tells administrators to look for “Office 365 A1 for faculty Trial” and “Office 365 A1 for students Trial” under Billing, Your products. Because those are absent, I would not assume the Intune signup has completed the same provisioning process. Keep this tenant and ask support to verify its tenant ID, academic verification status and missing trial subscriptions together. Explain that the standard school signup is failing and ask whether they can complete verification for this existing tenant. Give the same tenant ID to your licensing partner before arranging A3. The documentation does not establish that your alternative signup bypasses the trial prerequisite, so support must confirm that route before you rely on it.

I know that the pending message doesn't mean it is approved, nor that purchasing A3 is available but it looks like I can use that tenant to start the eligibility process. The same appears on a test tenant I created before the sign up stopped working, the only difference is that the one from Intune for education doesn't show up A1 trial licenses nor 'Microsoft Education' under services.
I asked support about it and they send me a list of questions regarding the institution for the eligibility process so it seems like it can be used, but just asked them again about it with no answer yet. Only one guy from support tried to help me and said that so far this is the second time the signup form stopped working and that it (probably) is because of a migration they are doing for something called MOSA? But hopefully doing the intune thing works.
Now we are just waiting.
Thanks for replying!
