Adding an Existing OneNote notebook to Teams
We just started exploring using Teams. I wanted to add my existing OneNote book. The Help says I can , but when adding a new OneNote tab there is no option to do that. Then I ran into a post that said that option is not available for EDU customers. Hmmm...? Can anyone confirm or clarify this? I am knew to the EDU world and just assumed the software would be the same as corporate. Thanks!

Hi
I can confirm that adding existing OneNote notebooks is not available on EDU tenants at this time. I believe I read on another thread that this functionality was planned before the summer.
For the most part Teams for EDU is just like Teams for everyone else.
OneNote however is an exception, since schools use Class Notebook and Staff Notebook, which complicates things.
Teams creation is also different, with options for class teams, staff teams etc., that use a predefined template including said class/staff notebooks, assignments and more.
Education environments also need more granular control, as well as control over features unique to their environment.
When you open Manage Team followed by Settings within a class team, you have settings for OneNote Class Notebook integrated.
Also within the Office 365 Admin Center, under Services & add-ins and Microsoft Teams, you will have a section for Settings by user/license type where you can configure different calls, meetings and messaging behaviour for students and faculty.
