Microsoft Defender for Mac
Have a 365 account which I use for work and would like to install defender on my personal macbook pro (which I use for work)
Why am I having so much trouble figuring out where and how to download/install it?

Have you downloaded the onboarding package and executed the Python script?- No - I’m just a regular guy - not an IT professional. Have no idea what that is. Typically I just download things and Mac will help install via setup wizard
On boarding device to Microsoft Defender is not an app you install and use the license assigned to your account. It requires and administrator who has access to the onboarding package to run on your computer or your computer can be on boarded automatically, if it's managed by your organization. Badlamb
