Comparison View in Microsoft Secure Score

Hi Guys,

Would anyone happen to know how you can replace the option below in Comparison View from "Organizations of a similar size"...

to "Organizations like yours"...

TIA.

    Hi Surya_Narayana

    Thanks for the reply.

    Please see below:

    Permissions Needed:

You must have one of the following roles:

    • Global Administrator
    • Security Reader
    • Security Administrator

<snip> I am both Global Administrator and Security Administrator </snip>

If you're not seeing the option to change the comparison group, ensure:

    • You're using a supported browser.
    • You have proper Azure AD/Microsoft 365 security roles.
    • Your organization has enough data for meaningful comparisons.

<snip> we are using an updated Edge Browser. I think I have proper security roles (other than Global Admin and Security Admin, would I still need the Security Reader role?). I think we already have enough data for comparison (5 yr company). Below is the screenshot of the dashboard. </snip>

  • hi Jun_Tiburcio here you go, By default, it shows your score compared to organizations of a similar size. However, you can change this comparison group to get more relevant benchmarking.

    How to Change ?:

    1. Go to the Microsoft Defender portal:
      https://security.microsoft.com/securescore
    2. In the Secure Score dashboard, select the “Comparison view” tab.
    3. Click the dropdown next to “Your secure score compared to…”
    4. Choose one of the following comparison filters:
      • Organizations of a similar size
      • Organizations in the same industry
      • Organizations with a similar license
      • All organizations

Note: You can’t input a custom organization or specific company for comparison. The groupings are based on Microsoft’s anonymized benchmarking data.
