No request is seen after sending one. Help.

I was invited to join a team using a link by my teacher. I've sent the request but they said there are no pending requests to accept. Some of my mates are also in the same situation. Tried searching everywhere for the solution but none came up. If anyone can help, I'd be very grateful.
