Intermittent Issue Not Correctly Following Powerpoint Presenter On Mac Client
Hello my daughter is struggling with school lessons because Teams is often not locally following the slide that the presenter is on. She has the option to manually change the slides locally and can click to re-join the presenter but often it just says the presenter is still on slide 1 but they are not. This results in her needing a side conversation on zoom with other school friends to try to follow the session. Its a nightmare for her.
Is this a known defect in Teams, is there something we can do about it ?
I signed up to teams to see what the issue is and at one point I was able to reproduce it but then it became stable again. I cannot easily identify the cause.
We are using the OSX install on Big Sur.
Any tips appreciated.
Thanks
Update: It's hard to see what causes this issue, but once the Mac app has started doing it, it keeps doing it. i.e. any screen share that works through uploading content then the client will just sit there stuck on Slide 1 and not follow the presenter. This remains true for joining and leaving meetings. Once we force kill the whole Teams app (all instances) and restart it, correct behaviour is restored.
A further issue is that to get the web client to work on a Mac as a backup, we have to disable the prevention of the cross site tracking i.e. disable the PRIVACY features in the browser - otherwise it does not work - that doesn't feel like a great situation.

I have the same issue - on Windows 10 - Teams app and also via browser. I just left a meeting where 2 out of 8 persons have this issue. Last week I was in a meeting with approx 30 people and approx 10 people had this issue. Are we facing a bug here?
Just to be sure: the issue is that when the presenter is moving to the next slide some people do not see the presenter going to the next slide and always stay on slide 1. However the people that do have this issue, have the option to move to the next slide them selves.

Example:
PptSharingManager: Local slide change event ignored (preventing private viewing from kicking in)
Example:
PptSharingManager: Local slide change event ignored (slide did not change)
What seems to get the app into this state is a fast slide change by the presenter during the sharing startup. The web client seems more stable. The Mac App seems to have this bug. And as noted above once triggered it is sticky and you have to restart the whole teams app.
