Exporting Assignments from Teams

Hello everyone

I was hoping that someone might be able to help me with my request.

In essence, I would like any assignments set in Teams to be visible to a 3rd party MIS for students and parents to see in their respective portals.  So, if I set a Computer Science assignment for a class, they will still see it in Teams, but their parents might log into our parent portal and see that there is a Computer Science assignment set that is due on a particular date.

Has anyone done this or is working towards this?  Or have I just asked a very, very specific question?

    Hi Mark Minghella,

Microsoft expose the https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/graph/api/educationclass-list-assignments?view=graph-rest-beta, so it's definitely possible, but your MIS would also need to support this on their end.

That said, Microsoft is obviously also working on ways to increase parent insight, and recently announced https://teams.rocks/2019/02/04/new-year-news-in-school-data-sync/ in School Data Sync.

We don't know exactly how those parent data will be used within Teams for Education, except for the recently announced weekly digest mail (should be rolling out in the next few weeks), which basically will give parents a weekly email with information about last weeks assignments and their status as well as assignments coming up in the next week.

So stay tuned, Teams for Education is getting better every day! :)

Mark MinghellaFrom what I see so far the people you add will have to have some type of Microsoft account.  I am currently battling with adding users from my org to my 365 account.  Not sure how you will get parents in on the team world.  Some of these people in my org are still using that last AOL cd to get on the net with their 28.8's.  Good luck.

Thanks for the quick reply. I know that we can give parents unique access to their children's Class Notebooks but that it possibly more access than we want to give right now. Ideally, I just want a way to display the assignments set in our MIS without parental access to Teams.
