Custom UI localization

Hey, I'm looking for a way to localize some words differently in the UI for my organization. In germany at schools you have "Lehrer" (Teacher) and "Schüler" (Student) but here at University we call them "Professor" and "Student".

So is there a way to customize the localization of some words in the UI ?
