Create alert rule with ARM/PowerShell/CLI

Is it possible in the preview or will be possible at GA to create alert rules via automation?  I can't find the resource type for the alert rule within Sentinel and it looks to be different from the current log analytics alert rules.

    In the preview I have not found any way to use either ARM Templates or PowerShell commands. I cannot speak for GA but I have to imagine that they will both be available

      I'm looking at the same thing and cannot find where the configuration is located. Wishing to be able to script these things instead of the point and click.
