Archive Logs Table vs Blob storage account (Which one is cheaper?)

Hi,

Microsoft recently provided feature of Archive Table, previously we used to have a playbook to move logs from the log analytical workspace to Blob Storage account.

My question is interms of pricing, which one is the better option? I see that using Archive table is easier, since we just have to define Retention on the table, however am not sure if that would be cost effective?

Please share any link from Microsoft as to which one is cheaper.

Thanks

Fahad

  • Hello I would go with archivelog using the log analytics workspace, because when you want to search the log's you can easily use kql as opposed to storage.

Log analystic basic log = $1 per gb
Log analytic log = $4,60 per gb
Storage cool tier = $1,89 per gb , but depends because have the write and read operation, i used 10x10,000 operations per every type.

Storage hot tier = $0,83 per gb , but depends because have the write and read operation, i used 10x10,000 operations per every type.
