Any tips on getting Floor plans to work?
- Feb 24, 2020
Mirek_N The labeling is correct in the DWG file. Can you do the following:
- Mark 10 or more rooms with room labels. Something like ST-10., ST-11 ... ST-20.
- Update office locations of 10 or more AAD users with B1/ST-10, B1/ST-11, ... B1/ST-20.
- Check whether the changes have reached MS Search. It might take upto 8 days.
- To check, open office.com and search for the person with the locations in (2). If the updated address shows up, it will work.
- Now upload the floor plans.
Hello Heidi Connor,
may I ask you for tips or screens how did you set the search? Could you share please exactly following details:
- What kind of information do you have in label in DWG file?
- What kind of information do you have in user profile in label Office?
- What did you set in "Link office location"?
Does the search work?
I set it this way but it does not work.
- Created map with labels
- Change users office in AAD profile (B1/ST-17) where B1 is building and ST-17 office. If I understood it right.
- Set search
- Set location
- Set floor plan
- Select location
- Upload map
- Link office location
- Select location
Thank you for your tips,
Mirek
Hi Mirek_N ,
Our building/seating format looks like: BOS-C1-105.1, where:
BOS = Building
C1 = Floor
105.1 = Seat
In the DWG file, we have the building, floor, and office code/numbers.
In the Admin Center user profiles, it shows the full building, floor, seat: BOS-C1-105.1
In Locations, I have added an entry for Boston Campus, which I'll use when adding the floor plan.
When setting it up in Search > Floor Plans:
- On the “Select your building” pane, I select = Boston Campus
- On the “Link Office locations” (AAD code) pane, I enter = BOS
- On the “Specify location patterns” pane, I enter Floor = C1, Room = 105.1, and we have a few Zones, so there’s a second pattern row for zone items that is Floor = C1, Room = ZONE1 (This appears to be case sensitive)
