If you are using MDE.extension MDE will already be installed on your servers - you can check by seeing the VM extension health to see if it is healthy or not under VM > Extensions
Virtual machine extensions should keep MDE up-to-date with the latest verison of MDE
in regards to the solution from your workspace, you can safely remove it
