Roll back is not a practical solution for us, however, like you the testing with the Beta channel has produced vastly superior speeds for web page loading in Chrome and Firefox for our test users.
Hopefully a release is made to the stable channels soon so that we can see the end of this, but in the meantime we are adding select users/devices to the beta channels.

Yeah, that's probably what we're going to do too. Too much of pain to implement a global rollback. Just doing the rollback testing to appease Microsoft.
