Question on Web Content Filtering and CASB enablement

Hi Community,

Our customer has some questions on Web Content Filtering and CASB:

 

  1. Can we map the devices groups created in Defender portal to CASB? Because we created a device group and it wasn’t shown in CASB
  2. Is it possible to have user based policies in CASB not only computer based ones? A user might need to switch computers so we will need to block the computer applications based on the user
  3. Is it possible to block WeTransfer download but allow the upload only?

Any guidance would be of great help!

    SB V  -  Feedback inline:

    1. Can we map the devices groups created in Defender portal to CASB? Because we created a device group and it wasn’t shown in CASB => No
    2. Is it possible to have user based policies in CASB not only computer based ones? A user might need to switch computers so we will need to block the computer applications based on the user => We have heard of this request before and encourage you to file a feature request for this with the Microsoft Defender for Apps and Microsoft Defender for Endpoint teams.
    3. Is it possible to block WeTransfer download but allow the upload only? => The Microsoft Defender for Apps team might be able to provide guidance - https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-defender-for-cloud/bd-p/MicrosoftDefenderCloudApps
